Social Skills Groups for Children
Small-group sessions designed to help children build confidence with conversation, friendships, and everyday social communication.
What Are Social Skills Groups?
Speech Matters Social Skills Groups provide children with a supportive environment to practice real-world communication skills with peers.
Led by licensed speech-language pathologists, these small groups focus on skills such as:

Understanding social cues
Turn-taking and listening
Building friendships
Problem-solving in social situations
Sessions are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each group’s age and needs.
Who Are These Groups For?
Social skills groups may be helpful for children who:
Have difficulty initiating or maintaining conversations
Struggle with peer interactions
Have pragmatic language challenges
Benefit from practicing communication in a small peer setting
Have diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, or social communication disorder
Groups are organized by age and communication needs to ensure a comfortable and supportive environment.
What Should We Expect?

Strategies children can carry into school and home
Groups are intentionally small so every child receives individualized support.
